Inspiration for my quilts comes from many sources. I subscribe to a couple of patchwork magazines, but make very few quilts from them, although they do inspire me with much food for thought. It is great to see what other people are doing.

Fabrics are sometimes the inspiration for a quilt, the whole of my quilt design might come from one piece and is dictated by how much of it I have. Mostly I buy fabric because I like the design and color, less often, fabrics are purchased with an idea for a quilt in mind, and very very occassionally would I purchase fabric with a complete design in mind.

I love the history of patchwork, and the lovely old quilts and have in my book collection many old titles. Probably why many of my quilts have an old look, and why I favour purchasing reproduction fabrics. Although I am trying to include more stripes in my piecing.
